In this docu-series, four pairs of monozygotic twins participate in a scientific study involving different diets for each twin: one vegan and one omnivorous. The purpose of the experiment is to determine which of the two diets is better in terms of health and well-being, both being healthy but significantly different from each other.
The experiment lasted eight weeks. In the first four weeks, it was the specialists who directly followed the patients, while in the last four weeks the twins self-managed according to the predetermined diets.
The choice of monozygotic twins was particularly interesting because they share the same DNA but the pairs chosen are very different from each other: two twins are in the cheese business, two run a catering company, others are students and body builders, and the last are teachers.
In conclusion, at the end of the eight weeks it was found that the twins who followed a vegan diet had more benefits than those who followed an omnivorous one. Therefore, “we are what we eat” proves to be not only a scientific experiment but also a way to raise awareness of society’s eating habits.
