Scenario
In recent years, increasing pressure on natural resources, climate change and unstable global food systems have led to a search for sustainable alternatives to feed a growing population. According to the FAO, 60 percent more food will need to be produced by 2050, but with less water, land and environmental impacts.
In this context, microalgae, particularly spirulina, have emerged as a highly sustainable protein source with an exceptional nutritional profile. Spirulina grows rapidly, requires minimal water resources, does not require pesticides, and can be produced in nonagricultural environments, even in cities.
In Europe, the focus on thecircular economy applied to food has grown in line with the Green Deal and the Farm to Fork strategy. Agrifood innovation is moving toward circular, modular and local models that can ensure food security, climate resilience and waste reduction.
Revival Spirulina fits fully into this scenario: it proposes a local and regenerative production system that meets the demand for ethical and sustainable superfoods while reducing the ecological footprint of the entire supply chain.
