“Sharing the Harvest”(Ernte Teilen) is a docu-film about a silent revolution in the way food is produced and consumed. Directed by filmmaker and activist Philipp Petruch, the film follows three community-supported agriculture (CSA) initiatives located in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, north of Berlin, for an entire year.

These agricultural realities, far from the intensive models of industrial agriculture, choose to free themselves from market logic and the pressure of infinite growth and instead create local food supply cycles based on ecology, social justice and cooperation. Through the film, we discover how a new pact between producers and consumers can transform not only the way we cultivate the land, but also human relationships and our relationship with the environment.

The documentary focuses in particular on three experiences: Hof Apfeltraum, led by Annette Glaser and Boris Laufer, Gemüsegenossen, Conny’s CSA, and finally the collective project of Markus, Jette, Eileen, and Tommy Polonia. Sharing the Harvest shows the daily life of these farms, their relationship with local communities, and the ethical choices that guide their activities.

The film invites the viewer to reflect on a new model of equitable agriculture that does not exploit the soil or people, but creates a direct link between those who produce and those who consume. With honest and participatory images, Petruch shows that building a more resilient, local and environmentally friendly system is possible. “Sharing the Harvest” thus becomes a manifesto for those who believe that uniting community and land can change the agrifood system.
