I studied Philosophy at the Triennale and, between a symposium of Plato and an aperitif in “Milano da bere,” wine stole my heart (and maybe a piece of my liver!). I wrote a thesis focused on the relationship between wine and philosophy, enrolled in the Sommelier course and landed in Pollenzo where I found much more: I found people, connections, new experiences, tales of the world, anecdotes of the country. And I discovered a love for storytelling, which opened the door to the world of wine communication and marketing: I communicate wine and wineries online and on social media, trying to give written form to their fascinating work.
The idea was born in March 2020 in the midst of the first lockdown, a winemaker friend asked me, “is there a place to sell quality artisanal bulk?” That place didn’t exist, now there is! Sfusobuono is the first online store entirely dedicated to the sale of artisanal wine from small producers and was created with the goal of being able to consume a product that is good and made well, every day. I am a DOC Piedmontese and grew up with the image of my dad getting his daily Barbera in demijohns directly from the cellar; today for my generation this type of supply is complex (I in Milan have no cellar or balcony to bottle wine!) and bag-in-box is a super practical solution. Making the packaging ‘pretty and pop’ was key to debunking the idea of a low-quality product that is often attached to it, but it is definitely the content that convinced the most skeptical! The claim of the project is “Try It Tap It” and is aimed at everyone (even the most intransigent Sommeliers!).
