Around revolutionizes the world of single-use food packaging through the deployment of smart, reusable, take-out and delivery containers. Around is the first sustainable reusable packaging service active in Italy, digital and deposit-free, providing restaurants, canteens, businesses and end consumers with the opportunity to reduce their environmental impact by reusing it. With Around, in fact, it is possible at venues that are part of the network and through the app to replace disposable packaging with reusable packaging and track each transaction by calculating its environmental impact in terms of CO2 saved.
To incentivize the shift toward a reuse system, we launched our first crowdfunding campaign. An initiative promoted together with Banca Etica with the aim of helping clubs, bars and restaurants in the ecological transition, encouraging the use of reusable containers and eliminating disposable ones. With this campaign, we aim to raise funds to be given directly to local people to use our service for free for one year. The goal, in fact, through the reuse of Around containers (tracked individually on the Aroundrs app), is to reduce CO2 emissions from the use of disposable containers by 1 ton. An important signal with a concrete response to combat the climate crisis.
